We make small apps that work on your Mac. We collect as little as we can, and we never sell your data. Questions: contact@vistaar.studio.

Our apps

Desk Buddy keeps your clipboard history on your Mac. If you turn on sync, your copies travel between your Macs through your own iCloud account (Apple's private iCloud database); we have no access to it. Buddy notices which app is in front so he can react (for example, "saved that link from Safari"), but he does not read your copied text for anything other than showing it to you, and nothing is sent to us.

Pictailor resizes, crops, compresses and edits your photos on your Mac. Your photos are not uploaded anywhere.

Neither app has an account, ads, or tracking.

Licence checks

When you activate an app, it sends your licence key and a name for your Mac (such as "Alex's MacBook Air") to our payment partner, Dodo Payments, to check that the key is valid and how many Macs use it. The app checks again from time to time. Nothing else from your Mac is sent.

When you buy

Payments are handled by Dodo Payments, the merchant of record. They collect your name, email, billing details and payment information to process your order, as described in their privacy policy. We receive your email address, what you bought and your licence key, so we can send your key, help you if you lose it, and answer support requests. We do not see or store your card details.

Emails

We email you only about your purchase: your key, a lost-key reminder you ask for, or a reply to your message. If you sign up to hear about a new app, we write to you about that app and nothing else; every such email lets you unsubscribe.

This website

vistaar.studio is served by Cloudflare, which processes standard technical data (such as your IP address) to deliver and protect the site. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. The site stores small preferences in your browser (for example, which Buddy face you picked) and does not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Keeping and deleting data

We keep purchase records for as long as needed for your licence, support, and tax and accounting law. You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, or to correct or delete it, by writing to contact@vistaar.studio. Deleting purchase records may mean we can no longer recover a lost key for you.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. We will never start selling data or adding tracking without saying so clearly here first.
