Terms of Sale & Use

These terms cover buying and using apps from Vistaar Studio ("we", "us"), a small app studio based in India: Desk Buddy and Pictailor for macOS, and any app we add later. By buying or using one of our apps you agree to them. Questions: contact@vistaar.studio.

1. Who sells to you

Payments are handled by our payment partner, Dodo Payments, who acts as the merchant of record. They process your payment, charge any applicable sales tax or VAT, and issue your receipt. Their own terms also apply to the payment itself.

2. What you buy

You buy a licence to use the app; you don't buy the app itself. Each purchase comes with one licence key, sent by email and shown on the page after payment.

A licence is for one person (you, or one member of your household or team who uses those Macs). It is a one-time purchase; there is no subscription and the licence does not expire. You can move a licence to a new Mac by removing it from an old one in the app.

3. Prices and the founding launch

Prices are shown on each app's page, in US dollars; your final price, including any tax, is shown at checkout. The first 50 licences of each app are sold at a founding launch price; after that the regular price applies. Launch prices are not applied retroactively, and a change in price does not affect licences already bought.

4. What you may and may not do

• Install and use the app on as many Macs as your licence allows.
• Don't share, resell or publish your licence key, and don't try to get around the licence check.
• Don't copy, modify, reverse-engineer or redistribute the app, except where the law gives you that right.
• The characters, artwork, names and logos are ours; please don't reuse them without asking.

5. Updates and support

We fix bugs and release updates as we are able. The version you buy keeps working on the macOS versions it supports. If we ever release a new major version as a separate paid upgrade, the version you already have stays yours. For help, write to contact@vistaar.studio; we usually reply within two working days.

6. Your data

Our apps work on your Mac. How we handle the little data involved is explained in the Privacy Policy.

8. Warranty and liability

We build our apps with care, but they are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind beyond those required by law. Please keep your own backups of important files. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to an app is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited.

9. Ending the licence

If you break these terms or a payment is reversed, your licence may be deactivated. You can stop using an app at any time.

10. Changes and law

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and the terms in force when you bought still apply to that purchase. These terms are governed by the laws of India.
